Summary
The Big 12 upset curse almost grabbed its third high profile victim as Robinson 1-seed Texas scored a TD in overtime to trump the 8-seed California Golden Bears FG after the Golden Bears had a 4th quarter comeback to send the game into the overtime. As a result the Longhorns will face the 4-seed and Big East champion Cincinnati Bearcats in the Sweet Sixteen. The Rockne Region's highest remaining seed, 2-seed Utah won a hard fought game against 7-seed Ball State who wouldn't go away in a 21-14 victory.

In other action, Camp 1-seed USC blasted North Carolina back to Tar Heel country with a 58-0 while fellow Pac-10 members the 4-seed Oregon Ducks romped over Pittsburgh with 40 2nd half points in their Bryant Region game. Besides the Longhorn-Bearcat match-up being set up for the Sweet Sixteen, USC will host 4-seed Georgia in the Camp Region, the 2-seed Utes will host fellow Mid-Major power 3-seed Boise State with the winner hosting the Rockne Regional Final, and Oregon travels to the East Coast to face Bryant Region 1-seed Florida in the Swamp.

Conference Record
