NEW YORK-- The Islanders dominated Game 4 to tie their semifinal series with the Canadiens at 2 games a piece. The Islanders' defense only allowed 15 shots on goal, 14 of which Billy Smith saved while the Canadiens' defense was ripped to shreds by the Islanders offense that saw five different men score on 36 shots of which Ken Dryden was only able to save 30. The victory assures the Islanders that they'll be returning to New York for Game 6 while the Canadiens look to recover in time for Game 5 in Montreal.
