All-Time Stanley Cup Playoffs Semifinals

(1) '76-77 Canadiens 3, (5) '81-82 Islanders 2
MONTREAL-- The Canadiens ruled game that saw offense and their goaltending held up better to take a 2 games to none series lead against the Islanders. The Canadiens' Ken Dryden was 28 for 30 against the Islanders' Billy Smith's 36 for 39 performance. Three different Montreal players scored as the Islanders defense, which strangled the '43-44 Canadiens couldn't keep up. The series shifts to New York for Games 3 and 4 where the Islanders look to bounce back.
