All-Time Stanley Cup Playoffs Quarterfinals

(1) '76-77 Canadiens 3, (10) '71-72 Bruins 1
BOSTON-- The Canadiens took advantage of the Bruins penalties and Ken Dryden's excellent goaltending to send the series back to Montreal for Game 7. The Canadiens' Dryden 36 for 37 highlighted the fact that the Bruins' offense was still on and so was their defense as they only allowed 22 shots on goal for Gerry Cheever's, but he saved only 19 in a losing effort. The top-seeded Canadiens realized they needed to win or face the humilation of the ages. Now both teams go to Game 7, do or die!

Goals
Montreal: Larry Robinson, Guy Lapointe, Steve Shutt
Boston: Phil Esposito

Assists
Montreal: Guy Lafleur (2), Jacques Lemaire, Pierre Bouchard
Boston: Wayne Cashman, Ken Hodge
