MONTREAL-- The Canadiens' 4th goal of the game just 1:23 into the 3rd Period was just enough as Ken Dryden allowed three goals afterwards as the Bruins almost stole the game. Dryden's 28 for 31 night bested Gerry Cheevers 20 for 24 performance to help the Canadiens tie the series at 1 game apiece and assured the Canadiens a return to Montreal for Game 5.

MONTREAL-- The Canadiens' came back strong against the Islanders after Game 1 to tie the series at 1 game a piece. The Canadiens' defense was stiffling and Bill Durnan's 17 for 17 shutout performance put the Islanders in their place as their goaltender Billy Smith was just shot at left and right in comparision going 34 for 38. The victory assures the Canadiens a return to Montreal for Game 5.
