CALGARY-- The Flames scored midway through the 1st Period and held on to stun the '67-68 Canadiens to win four straight and to win the series 4 games to 3. The Flames' Mike Vernon saved 32 for 32 shots for his third consecutive shutout to the Canadiens Gump Worsley 27 for 28 performance. The Flames victory keeps them as the 2nd seed overall as they will face either the '71-72 Bruins or the '01-02 Red Wings depending on the other Game 7.

MONTREAL-- The Canadiens finally ended their series with the Flyers, one game later than they wanted to advance to the Quarterfinals where they'll face '38-39 Bruins. The Canadien's Jacques Plante's 34 for 34 shutout performance outdueled Bernie Parent 29 for 31 performance. In what was an interesting duel, Plante's third shutout victory finally stopped the Flyers.
