CALGARY-- The Flames staved off elimination another day as they ran Gump Worsley from the net and will head to Montreal to continue the comeback. The Flames' Mike Vernon posted a 28 for 28 shutout against Worsley's 33 for 38 performance while his replacement Rogie Vachon went 6 for 6.

BOSTON-- The '19-20 Senators started the 3rd Period up 3-1 and looking like they were heading home still alive in the All-Time Playoffs. But goaltender Clint Benedict let in two goals and the Senators penalties came back to haunt them as he gave up a powerplay goal to Milt Schmidt in the 2nd overtime period to end the series. Bruin's Frank Brimsek was able to shake off his performance in Game 4 and the first two periods to become an unstoppable machine as he went 35 for 38 while Benedict went 47 for 51. With the 4 games to 1 series victory, the '38-39 Bruins will have home-advantage in the Quarterfinals against an unknown opponent.

(6) '58-59 Canadiens 2, (11) '73-74 Flyers 1 (OT)
MONTREAL-- After scoring with just 43 seconds left in the game it looked like the Flyers had gained the momentum going into overtime only for Claude Provost of the Canadien's to score 77 seconds into the extra period to give the home team the victory and 3 games to 2 lead. The victory was also the first for either team when at home as Jacques Plante ruined shutout attempt amounted to 32 for 33 while Bernie Parent went 34 for 36 in another goaltending duel.

(7) '86-87 Oilers 3, (10) '71-72 Bruins 1
EDMONTON-- The furiocity in the series went up ten times as the Oilers and Bruins went at each other, and another Oiler got ejected. The Oiler's offense was able to take advantage of their chances and behind Andy Moog's 30 for 31 night they were about to out bloody and out score the Bruins as Gerry Cheever had a 27 for 30 night. The Bruins once up 3-0 now lead the series 3 games to 2 as the series shifts back to Boston for Game 6.
