TORONTO-- The Canadiens' Guy Lafleur scored 3 seconds into Game 4 and it was Ken Dryden who shutdown the Maple Leafs who overaggressively tried to get back into the game and stave off elimination only to get into penalty trouble. Dryden's 24 for 24 performance slightly bested Al Rollin's 24 for 25 performance.

COLORADO-- In a penalty filled game, the Canadiens scored early and Bill Durnan's 21 for 22 performance in net held up his teammates efforts. Colorado's Patrick Roy 27 for 30 performance just wasn't good enough as the Canadiens head back to Montreal with a 3 to 1 series lead looking to close it out.

The Islanders though equaled the Red Wings 2nd Period offense then scored in the 3rd to finish the scoring. Smith finished with a 27 for 20 performance against Terry Sawchuk's 41 for 49 goaltending performance. The Islanders head back home with a 3-1 lead looking to close it out in Game 5.

The victory ties the series at 2 games a piece and assured both teams a return trip to Detroit with a chance to clinch in Game Six.
