All-Time Stanley Cup Playoffs

(15) '67'-68 Canadiens 3, (2) '88-89 Flames 2
CALGARY-- Again penalties played a part in a Game 2 as the Canadiens' Yvan Cournoyer and Jean Beliveau scored powerplay goals in the 3rd Period to tie then take the lead. The two goals tarnished a spectacular night by Flames goaltender Mike Vernon who finished the night with 31 from 34 shots. But it was the Canadiens' Gump Worsley who withstood the Flames fierce shooting at the end of the game for 30 saves from 32 shots.

BOSTON-- The Senators continued the massive amounts of penalties in games seen the last few days of the playoffs. It was the Bruins that took advantage as they used a powerplay to put themselves up for good in the 2nd Period scored by Roy Conacher. The Bruins' Frank Brimsek's 30 saves out of 31 shots outdid the Senators' Clint Benedict's 29 save out of 32 shots effort.

(11) '73-74 Flyers 3, (6) '58-59 Canadiens 1
MONTREAL-- It was the Flyer's Bernie Parent's night as he saved 20 of 21 shots, a low number thanks to his upfront defense. In a game dominated by great goaltending the Flyers' were able to get three goals by the Canadien's super goaltender Jacques Plante who saved 24 of 27 shots.

(10) '71-72 Bruins 2, (7) '86-87 Oilers 1
EDMONTON-- The Oilers self-destructed with a mass of penalties, two ejections one of which was Wayne Gretzky, and all against a great performance by Andy Moog who saved 31 of 33 shots. But the Bruins' two goals within a minute of one another in the 1st Period held up thanks to Gerry Cheevers 29 for 30 performance against the high scoring Oilers. The Bruins take a 2-0 series lead back to Boston
