Hello everyone who is interested in reading this. I'm back for an update.
First off, I wanted to post during the Olympics but couldn't find the time or was too lazy to do it when I did. Well when the Olympics were in Salt Lake four years ago, I loved watching the hockey it was so much better than the NHL at the time and I absolutely loved it, especially the early part of the tournament when eight teams were vying for the last two spots in the final eight. The Men's Tournament thus lasted the entire games and you could get into them. This year, the Men's Tournament started later and I didn't get into the hockey like 2002.
For me viewing-wise, the Olympics centered around Curling. I basically made my schedule around the event and happily watched it when I could. I also tried to watch the biathlon and the cross-country skiing when I could as well, but mostly had to settle for reading the results at Wikipedia (www.wikipedia.com).
That was basically my Olympics.
There have been events in the WWE that I've found interesting. Triple H has become the #1 Contender for the WWE Championship held by John Cena, I hope Triple H wins and by the crowd reaction a week ago so does the majority of the fans. Big Show & Kane will defend the World Tag Team Title against Carlito & Chris Masters at WrestleMania...now I would have no problem with is match if it wasn't for the Carlito/Masters storyline getting so fucking mixed up since the beginning of the year, at least Carlito will look even better when compared to Masters and people will respect him for making Masters look good.
Also at WrestleMania, the "Money in the Bank" Ladder match will be back, which could be a good thing. As of right now Ric Flair, RVD, and IC Champ Shelton Benjamin from RAW are in the match with three wrestlers from Smackdown! to be decided. Now with Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio both in SD! Main Event at the show against Kurt Angle for the World Heavyweight Title, those two are eliminated. Also with Chris Benoit and JBL facing off for the US Championship, those two former champions are out. The Undertaker is facing Mark Henry, so those two are also out of competition.
Now what does that leave SmackDown!? Well, the five-time WCW Champion Booker T for starters. Booker should be healthy enough for the match and is an instant contender to win it. Then there is SD!'s rising star, Lashley. He's a rookie, but in the matches I've seen an impressive one. This could be his first WrestleMania match and while he might not win, he could make a name. However, he might be having a match against Fit Finlay after what happened at No Way Out. I believe Matt Hardy could be in the match and it could be a smart move if he was, he along with RVD could be the hightlights of the match. So if I were to pick SD!'s competitors in the match would be Booker T, Lashley, and Matt Hardy. Other contenders, and mostly bad choices, could be Boogeyman, Hardcore Holly, Ken Kennedy (might replace Hardy in match), Orlando Jordan, Sylvan, Tanaka, and Vito. Now as I suggested only Kennedy seems to be the only reasonable choice after the three I listed as should be in the match.
Now my heart goes out to Shawn Michaels who has to endure his storyline feud with the McMahons, but at least he'll win against Shane at Saturday Night's Main Event and Vince at WrestleMania.
What else at WrestleMania? Oh, yes. Mick Foley vs. Edge, now I always love Mick when he is given a decent storyline and time to prepare. A match between these two should be very good, however Edge should be defending the WWE Championship against Triple H because Cena is a recreated Markie Mark and needs to be retooled to be more heelish instead of a forced face. I personally think Mick Foley vs. John Cena might have been a better choice to help reestablish a new identity for Cena.
Well that's my thoughts for now on things. Look out for my next posting...whenever it'll be.
