All-Time NBA Playoff Semifinals
Game 5
Los Angeles- (3) '67 76ers 124, (2) '72 Lakers 119 (Series 3-2)
Home court has not been friend to either the '72 Lakers or the '67 76ers as the visiting team has won every game in the series. In Game 5, the 76ers took advantage as they came back from a 7 point deficit with 7:21 left in the game and went on a 30-18 run to finish the game and take the win. Hal Greer and Chet Walker led a total of seven 76ers in double digits in scoring with Walker and Chamberlain leading the game in rebounding, both in double digits. The 4th quarter started as a 88-88 tie and the Lakers led by Jerry West and Gail Goodrich raced to that 7 point lead, but the 76ers defense clamped down on West and the Laker's offense sputtered. Now headed back to Philadelphia for Game 6, the 76ers look to break the home-court 'curse' and advance to face the '71 Bucks in the Finals.
