Hello everyone, it's wrestling ppv prediction time. Tomorrow is the WWE's 2008 edition of Unforgiven.
Unsanctioned Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho
This is going to the be the blow off of the feud from everything I've read and the way the story has been going to this point. Michaels wins, but Jericho continues the beating afterwards so Michaels can heal up a bit before going full-time again.
The next three matches are the World Title scramble matches. The rules are this: 1) A twenty minute match, 2) two men start and every 5 minutes another competitor enters, 3) A wrestler who gets a fall (either pinfall or submission) on one of his opponents becomes 'interim champion' but not officially recognized, and 4) the 'interim champion' at the end of the match will be the recognized champion either continuing his reign (Triple H, CM Punk, & Mark Henry) or starting a new one (12 challengers).
WWE Championship Scramble Match
Triple H (c) vs. Shelton Benjamin (US Champion) vs. Jeff Hardy vs. MVP vs. The Brian Kendrick
We can quickly rule out Kendrick and Benjamin ending the match as champion for either no crediblity or already holding a title...though Benjamin winning would result in a US Title tournament, which could end let's say the first SD on MyNetworkTV. This leaves Triple H, Jeff, & MVP, however Jeff & MVP are feuding but it's not a World Title feud right now. Thus I think Jeff will look like he's about to become champion when MVP costs him the match allowing Triple H to retain.
World Heavyweight Championship Scramble Match
CM Punk (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Batista vs. Kane vs. JBL
We can quickly rule out JBL because if he were champion, the fans would revolt...unless the reign was only for one day if he lost it on RAW the next night but the WWE better not take that chance. Rey had to comeback early because of Cena's injury and I think originally he would have screwed over Kane from becoming champion, and I don't think that is a championship feud right now. So that leaves CM Punk and Batista. I think CM Punk's time as champ is over only because the WWE wants to build him up for a bigger title reign later on because he has been a ratings success. Thus that leaves Batista becoming the champion a fourth time.
ECW Championship Scramble Match
Mark Henry (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. The Miz vs. Chavo Guerrero vs. Finlay
We can quickly rule out The Miz, just for the fact that he is The Miz. I don't think Chavo will be either because of how he lost the title at WrestleMania. That leaves Henry retaining, Matt winning, or Finlay winning. While I think Finlay as ECW champion would work and be a reward for being a teacher to the Divas and enduring the Hornswoggle mess, I don't think it'll happen. I believe Henry retains leading just because I think the next match will be Triple H retaining thus creating a storyline that CM Punk would actually retain against the odds.
World Tag Team Title Match
Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase (c) vs. Cryme Tyme
This actually seems to be a good long feud if executed right, I don't think Cryme Tyme win the titles but they win the match at No Mercy and eventually to a tradition Survivor Series match at that PPV.
Divas Championship Match
Michelle McCool (c) vs. Maryse
McCool retains, we're waiting for the Natalya rematch to see a change here.
Okay that's it everyone. See you next week for TNA's No Surrender.
