World Series MVP: Pat Zachry, pitcher 1976 Reds, (2-0, 0.50 ERA)

The 1976 Cincinnati Reds came back from a 3 games to 1 defecit against 1970 Baltimore Orioles, including winning the last two on the road in Memorial Stadium, to win the All-Time World Series. Pat Zachry had to amazing pitching performances in Games 2 & 6 both on the road in Baltimore and gained the MVP award for the series. It was almost two complete different series as in the first four games the Orioles offense put up enough runs for their pitchers to outshine the Reds. However after a 8-6 slugfest in Game 5, the Orioles offense was nonexistant as the Reds made the comeback. It seemed the Big Red Machine couldn't be denied the crown as the steamrolled the 1910 Philadelphia Athletics 4 games to 1, then did the same to the 1939 New York Yankees in 5 games, then came back from a 2-0 defecit to the 1912 Boston Red Sox in 6 games including an amazing 28-8 victory in Game 3 before winning three straight tight contests.

The 1976 Cincinnati Reds join the 1985 Chicago Bears, the 1981-82 New York Islanders, and the 1967 Philadelphia 76ers as the All-Time Greatest Teams in their sports. The '85 Bears lived up to their top-ranked seeding in the All-Time NFL/Super Bowl Playoffs. The '81-82 Islanders were ranked 5th and defeated the 1st, 2nd, and 4th ranked teams in the playoffs to take possession of the All-Time Stanley Cup. The '67 76ers were ranked 3rd and defeated the 14th, 7th, 2nd, and 5th-ranked teams to win the All-Time NBA Finals. The '76 Reds defeated the 5th, 2nd, 11th, and 10th ranked teams in their playoff run but their performance on the way showed why they were the best.

Now you have it, the period between 1966, the start of the 1966-67 basketball season, and 1986, year of Super Bowl XX, housed all the champions of the All-Time Playoffs. And though some of you might think the outcomes were wrong either because of the teams selected, the playoff format were lower seeded teams always faced higher seeded teams, or because of WhatIfSport's simulators I challenge you to send your own free time doing something like this. If your results are different then post them and let people debate the All-Time Champions.
