Well, what can I say its been 53 weeks since my last post...and frankly I'm surprised that I still have this account, however that is neither here nor there.
First off, as a wrestling fan, the WWE has been depressing me for over a year. There have been some hightlights: Batista winning the World Heavyweight Title, Angle vs. Michaels feud, Hogan vs. Michaels, Eddie & Batista angle, and Edge's WWE Title win. However those are the only good things, literally.
What was bad can be said as the following: Chris Masters, the misuse of Bastista as champion, the immature nature of John Cena's character, Chris Masters, Muhammad Hussan, characterization of Kurt Angle, Project Orton, Chris Masters, the misuse of Shelton Benjamin, Edge-Lita-Matt feud, and yes Chris Masters.
I could go on, but the WWE's stupidity and Writer Monkeys are ruining almost everything in the company, its becoming hard to watch.
Frankly we're getting close to WrestleMania 22 in Chicago, but I'm not impressed with any implications of what it'll be. Everyone knows right now that it'll be John Cena versus Triple H for the WWE Title while Kurt Angle defends the World Heavyweight Title against Randy Orton. We'll see The Undertaker defeat Mark Henry while Edge and Mick Foley square off. Of all of those matches Edge vs. Foley look to be good. It'll be a question if either one of the tag title belts or the US or IC Title belts will be on the line, they weren't last year and I hate to say that only the US Title seems to be in a real storyline to date.
The WWE had something with Edge as champion, but Triple H wants to play the heel while the crowd would have liked to turn him face to face Edge. But with John Cena as WWE Champion, everyone knows the drill.
I am looking at TNA as an alternative. It'll help that they'll move from Saturdays to Thursdays in April, but I think it'll help. Hopefully they'll get 30 more mintes or another hour to really show their stuff because right now they need to spread out some of their things and allow more storylines to develop. But if TNA does good on Thursdays, we might see the beginning of a WWE rival that'll make the McMahons decide to stop fucking around.
Personally, I'm hoping that the WWE decides to merge the WWE and World Heavyweight Titles to the Undisputed World Championship again then do the same thing with the World Tag Team Title and WWE Tag Team Title belts to create the Undisputed Tag Team Championship. The reason for this is simple it'll help create the RAW/SD! divide greater. Because the champions would move over from one show to the other every month as either has a PPV. When the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series come around the two shows rosters merge and some crossbrand matches take place possibilty.
The reason the WWE needs to unify their top titles and the tag titles is because both the Main Event and Tag team divisions are lacking in depth. By combining the titles, the divisions grow in depth. Then while the World and Tag Team Titles are on the other show, then the US and IC Titles become the big titles on SD and RAW while the Cruiserweight and Women's Titles get some more exposure. Also while the two top titles are on the other show, the show without them and concentrate on building storylines for the next month's PPV especially since when the World and Tag Team Titles come over, their storylines will need to be established and need time to do it which'll mean storylines that are already establish can give up some time for them to do so.
Last year, I bought six DVDs of PPVs for wanting to see the shows (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania 21, Backlash, ECW One Night Stand, Vengeance, and SummerSlam) I bought another (No Mercy) though only because it was Eddie Guerrero's last PPV match-Main Event match. The rest of the PPVs sucked and frankly this year I'm at least buying the Royal Rumbe and WrestleMania 22 along with the ECW PPV. But unless the WWE decides to take its collective head out of its collective ass, I'm not seeing myself buying anymore than that.
Well, I've given my thoughts on the WWE. It was incoherent, but then again so is the WWE. Hopefully my next post will be about the Olympics and later about the CWWF...which you'll learn about if I write a post.
